Position Summary/n The Assistant Director of Rehabilitation
Services assists the Director of Rehabilitation Services (DOR) in
directing the three rehab departments of physical, occupational,
and speech therapy to ensure the highest quality rehab services in
accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care
standards. /nEducation, Experience, and Licensure Requirements/n /n
- Active license in physical (BSPT, MSPT, DPT, or PTA),
occupational (BSOT, MSOT, COTA) therapy and meet the educational
requirements as defined in the job description for that license
type /n - Currently registered/licensed with applicable State. Must
maintain an active license in good standing throughout employment.
/n - Supervisory experience in post acute care or related setting
preferred /n - CPR certification upon hire or obtain during
orientation. CPR certification must remain current during
employment. /n /nSpecific Job Requirements/n /n - Liaisons with
patients, families, support departments, etc. to adequately plan
for patient needs /n - Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and e
mail /n - Exercise good body mechanics at all times /n - Make
independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action /n -
Knowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as the laws,
regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the post acute
care facility /n - Implement and interpret the programs, goals,
objectives, policies, and procedures of the department /n - Perform
proficiently in all competency areas including but not limited to:
patient rights, and safety and sanitation /n - Maintains
professional working relationships with all associates, vendors,
etc. /n - Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or
confidential information /n - Understand and follow company
policies including harassment and compliance procedures /n -
Displays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life Care’s
Code of Conduct and completes mandatory Code of Conduct and other
appropriate compliance training /n /nEssential Functions/n /n -
Fulfill core competencies of licensed position and provide clinical
oversight within discipline and in accordance with rehab practice
standards /n - Recruit, select, hire, evaluate, train, counsel, and
supervise rehab staff /n - Direct the growth, development, and
maintenance of rehab programs /n - Function as staff therapist as
caseload requires /n - Maintain appropriate staffing patterns as
clinically indicated /n - Utilize therapy software appropriately
and accurately /n - Assume the duties of the DOR in his or her
absence /n - Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive
attitude towards patients /n - Assist in the evacuation of patients
/n - Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance /n - Concentrate
and use reasoning skills and good judgment /n - Communicate and
function productively on an interdisciplinary team /n - Sit, stand,
bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently
during working hours /n - Read, write, speak, and understand the
