responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks on vehicles,
focusing on checking and replenishing fluids like engine oil,
transmission fluid, brake fluid, and windshield wiper fluid, as
well as tasks like tire rotations, air filter replacements, and
basic inspections to identify potential issues, all while adhering
to manufacturer specifications and safety procedures; essentially,
they are the primary point of contact for regular car maintenance
services. Key responsibilities of a lube technician: Oil changes:
Draining old engine oil, replacing oil filters, and adding new oil
according to vehicle requirements. Fluid level checks: Monitoring
and topping off other fluids like transmission fluid, power
steering fluid, coolant, and brake fluid. Tire rotations: Regularly
rotating tires to ensure even wear. Basic inspections: Visually
checking for potential issues like leaks, worn components, and
damaged hoses. Air filter replacement: Replacing air filters as
needed. Wiper blade replacement: Installing new windshield wiper
blades Battery checks: Checking battery voltage and fluid levels
Tire pressure adjustments: Checking and adjusting tire pressure to
manufacturer specifications Lubrication of moving parts: Applying
grease to chassis components as required Maintaining cleanliness:
Keeping the work area and vehicles clean Skills and qualifications
for a lube technician: Basic mechanical knowledge and understanding
