Job Description Job Description Job Summary The Drop & Bury Technician is responsible for installing and burying fiber or copper drop cables from the network access point to customer premises. This role focuses on safe, accurate installation while maintaining property integrity and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Install and bury fiber or copper drop cables from pedestals, handholes, or terminals to customer locations Perform hand digging, trenching, boring, and plowing per local codes and standards Place conduit, innerduct, or protective coverings as required Restore soil, grass, sod, gravel, and landscaping to original condition Identify and avoid existing utilities using markings and safe-dig practices Coordinate with installers, dispatch, and supervisors to complete service orders Communicate professionally with customers regarding scope and timelines Document completed work, footage buried, materials used, and before/after conditions Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles in safe working condition Follow all safety, traffic control, and environmental regulations Qualifications 1 year of experience in drop bury, utility locating, or underground cable work (preferred) Comfortable with physical labor and outdoor work in all weather conditions Experience using hand tools, trenchers, plows, or boring equipment Strong attention to detail and respect for customer property Ability to read work orders, maps, and utility markings Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently
