Essential Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesManages the overall activities of Operations team and manufacturing engineers by driving engagement in safety vision, Journey to Zero, to prevent incidents through focus on unsafe behaviors and conditionsManages resource utilization to assure timely production and quality standards are achieved daily. Coordinates the creation and maintenance of appropriate levels of manufacturing capacity while controlling labor and overhead costs.Leading advanced manufacturing and manufacturing engineering initiativesDemonstrates strong talent management ability focusing on hiring, coaching, directing, and developing employees while increasing engagement.Manages manufacturing engineering personnel in developing and implementing process improvements, production safety features and cost reduction concepts, while simultaneously providing production and R supportLeads efforts in key focus areas including production and cost efficiencies, safety, reliability, team member engagement, to achieve or exceed targeted performance. Plans, designs, prioritize and implements initiatives that result in continuous improvement of customer satisfaction, manufacturing efficiency, and profitability.Creates a culture of continuous improvement by meeting with the team regularly to reflect on concerns and challenges to action plan solutions.Facilitates P support by collaborating with direct reports and site Sr. Operations Manager on budget planning, capital expenditures, cost analysis opportunities, and manufacturing productivity for assigned customer product lines.Increases customer satisfaction via strong partnerships between support groups, customer service and the customer.Able to quickly identify and correct flow issues within a manufacturing site. Comfortable with leading continuous improvement projects resulting in through-put improvements, shorter lead times, cost reductions and productivity gains across all assembly product lines.Promotes owner mindset and employee empowerment by ensuring that standardized work processes are established, followed, countermeasures are implemented, and compliance with safety requirements are met.Instills and maintains a positive can-do team atmosphere through effective what and why leadership practices.Results oriented, approach focused on developing and building high performance teamsHigh level of passion and enthusiasm to lead customer centric service manufacturing team.Forward thinking - identifies and anticipates issues and brings others along to proactively addressPerform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Education and Experience RequirementsBachelor's Degree in Industrial Technology, Business, Engineering or other related field required.Minimum of 7 - 10 years of professional experience in a manufacturing or operations leadership role is requiredProficiency in all MS Office applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required. Experience with an ERP platform strongly preferred. IFS experience a plus.Experience with injection molding manufacturing is preferredExperience operating in an FDA regulated environment is a plusPreferred Skills and AbilitiesRemains calm under pressure; Strong decision-making skills in response to high pressure situations.Proven change agent: skill with enabling change, strong influencing abilities particularly with frontline teams.Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization.Ability to establish and maintain high level relationships with suppliers.Proven ability to implement process management, value stream execution, and continuous improvement activities.Strong verbal and written communications skills.Demonstrated results with Kanban processes and implementation strategiesWorking Conditions and Physical DemandsPHYSICAL DEMANDS:The characteristics listed below are representative of the physical demands required by an individual to successfully perform the essential duties of this position. In addition to Paid Time off and paid Holidays, each employee receives 16 hours paid time each calendar year to perform volunteer services for Nordson-sponsored events.
