Visit us at: to learn more about our organization and living in Colorado!Position SummaryThe Vice President, Information Technology is an established leader who leads and oversees all aspects of the IT function including implementation of enterprise applications, IT infrastructure, cyber security and help-desk support. The VP, IT is ultimately responsible for ensuring that IT is in-sync with the overall organization and is continuously working to support both its current and future growth and strategy. The VP, IT also plays a pivotal role in guiding and advocating the use of current and emerging technologies to better support the organization, solve problems, improve the customer experience, improve speed to market, improve ease-of-doing business and to make the organization more scalable and effective. This is a key leadership role at Lightning eMotors and requires a balanced combination of leadership, strategic thinking, a breadth of technical understanding, along with excellent interpersonal skills that facilitate collaboration. Responsibilities

  • Leader of the organization's technology functions and initiatives
  • Responsible for collaboratively forming and articulating Lightning eMotor's long-term technology strategy and vision
  • Accountable for a broad spectrum of IT activities - from developing the IT strategic plan and technology roadmap to translating the strategic plan into specific actions and driving results for the IT function and the business
  • Foster a culture of building deep relationships, trusted partnership and delivering results
  • Deliver on a specific set of success measures: IT objectives attainment, staff capability, internal customer satisfaction, and other related IT Key Performance Indicators
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive cybersecurity plan, ensuring it is integrated into all areas of the IT strategic plan
  • Enable the organization to take advantage of contemporary infrastructure, tools, languages, and other technology progress
  • Develop IT strategic plans and objectives to support the ongoing and emerging needs of the business
  • Develop and maintain a scalable model for the IT function to effectively manage the broad portfolio of projects and work throughout the IT function
  • Ensure a fully capable team of IT professionals with broad technology expertise, high motivation and adequate depth in key capabilities, while building a robust succession plan for IT
  • Develop and manage budgets and appropriate staffing plans for the IT function
  • As needed, support any system integration efforts as part of inorganic expansion
  • Establish appropriate IT policies and controls, and ensure organizational compliance with internal and external IT audits, legislative requirements, and other reporting requirementsCompetencies
    • Leadership: Proven ability to manage and fulfill a broad spectrum of an organization's needs, from baseline tactical to strategic in nature. You should be confident in your ability to tackle challenges while influencing and guiding the IT team. You should inspire confidence and make tough decisions while also demonstrating compassion.
    • Communication: Demonstrated ability to present to a Senior Leadership Team as well as the Board of Directors regarding cyber security and strategic technology roadmap. You should possess clear and concise written and verbal communication skills as well.
    • Relationship building: Proven ability to build effective partnerships with leaders of business units and other functions. You should possess the demonstrated ability to interact respectfully, collaboratively, and with a positive approach.
    • Time management: Possess the ability to manage multiple, competing priorities and attain the best possible outcome for the organization.
    • Scale-Up Mentality: Maintain an agile mindset and handle change in a productive manner. You should be willing to balance time and effort with the ups and downs of deadlines. What we require:
      • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline preferred
      • Minimum 8 years of proven experience within an IT function in progressively more responsible roles with familiarity or exposure to all facets of IT to include Enterprise Applications, Infrastructure, Cyber Security, Help Desk and Analytics
      • Experience working in a start-up organization, implementing new systems and scaling existing systems for growth
      • Experience implementing large scale enterprise solutions, particular Oracle and/or NetSuite, and a track record for leading technology transformational initiatives in sophisticated environments
      • Proven experience managing an IT function through a merger and leading required integration efforts
      • Proven experience in technology planning, organization, and development
      • Demonstrated ability to apply technology solutions to business problemsWhat we prefer:
