About this role
The Senior Manager, Turnarounds, Nitrogen and Phosphate Capital
Procurement is a pivotal role to achieve our goals of capital
procurement excellence. This leader will have the unique
opportunity to help create and develop best in class sourcing and
execution of turnaround projects across Nutrien Nitrogen and
Phosphate (N+P) business units (-20 sites across North America),
including deep interaction with stakeholders across Category
Management and Site Operations teams. We look for someone with the
right experience, ambition, practicality and impact orientation to
lead this opportunity. The primary goal of this role will be to
ensure capital is procured and deployed efficiently for turnaround
projects, maximizing ROI while managing safety and reliability.
This role will report to the Director, Capital Procurement,
Nitrogen and Phosphate and will involve some travel across North
America.
Key objectives for the role:
* Manage planning and execution of procurement needs to support
turnaround projects across multiple Nitrogen and Phosphate
production sites
* Establish best in class standard procurement practices for
effectively executing planned turnaround projects across N+P sites
and support standardization of current processes
* Oversee the sourcing, purchase, expediting, and delivery of
turnaround materials and services for critical deadlines
* Effectively manage a team of sourcing specialists and buyers to
source materials and services while minimizing total cost of
ownership and meeting safety, reliability, and quality needs
* Drive supplier performance process during pre, execution, and
post turnaround activities
* Support building out visibility into turnaround cost categories,
spend trends, and intelligence and KPIs required to manage service
across sites
* Drive continuous improvement and cost saving initiatives with
suppliers
What you will do:
* Work directly with the Director of Capital and team of sourcing
specialists and buyers to efficiently plan sourcing and execution
of procurement needs so that each TA project is completed on time,
with reliable materials and goods, at the lowest total cost of
ownership
* Ensure sites receive all necessary turnaround materials and
services in a timely manner for planned turnaround projects
* Establish KPIs to monitor and manage lead times with suppliers to
ensure on-time delivery to establish a more proactive lead time
program
* Build a standardized process to monitor the expediting of
purchase requests and orders across sites and support execution of
open POs to be expedited
* Direct and oversee local RFx and bidding events where global
agreements are not in place
* Build strong site relationships through effective site
engagement, establishing a playbook for turnaround engagement
leading up to turnarounds, during turnarounds and post to become
more systematic and consistent across sites
* Communicate regularly with Capital and Category Managers to
employ best demonstrated strategies for executing turnaround
projects
* Engage frequently with the Capital Planning team and site
personnel to understand the procurement needs and timing for each
site and project, including scope of work, work orders, and bill of
materials
* Develop the procurement skillset for a team of specialists and
buyers
* Manage Turnaround Team's compliance to Procurement policies,
processes, and digital tools
* Lead development of deliverables for each TA project phase and
leverage market indicators to identify future demand patterns
What you will bring:
* Extensive experience in both industrial and procurement. Deep
knowledge base of strategic thinking, analytics, procurement,
operations and maintenance
* Deep understanding of the capital planning process for
turnaround
* Experience in managing multiple employees
* Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, management
* Professional skills
* Impact orientation and bias to action - Nutrien is looking for a
proactive leader to deliver considerable value to the procurement
function
* Excellent analytical skills, ability to synthesize and identify
solutions to the problems of the operation with the lowest cost of
ownership
* Ability to analyze processes in user areas, preferably knowledge
of continuous improvement methodologies
* Ability to lead and manage a team and coordinate with executives
across the business
* Interpersonal skills
* Excellent ability to relate to suppliers, managers, and
supervisors across sites and Procurement

Compensation & Benefits:
130,000-145,000- This range is estimated for Sr. Manager,
Procurement TAR Colorado. Actual salary and benefits may differ
based upon location.

In addition to base pay, this role is also eligible to participate
in our annual incentive plan and long-term incentive plan,
consistent with the terms of our plan(s), which provide
