Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Telemetry - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 01/26/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days, nights - Employment Type: Travel Telemetry 1 year exp required Required Certifications RN WY license /compact license ACLS, BLS Certification Shift Notes 12D, will be required to work holidays, no call required Unit Overview – Cardiac / Cardiothoracic Stepdown Important Submission Note - All PPW due: Wednesday at 12:00 PM MST, the week before start - Permanent address requirement: Must live 25 miles from the facility Unit Details - Number of Beds: 24 - Patient Acuity: High-acuity cardiac and cardiothoracic stepdown - Focus: Preference for stepdown-level cardiac nurses rather than general tele Staffing & Ratios - RN Ratios: - Days: 1:4 - Nights: 1:4–5 - Charge Nurse: - Days: Charge does not take patients - Nights: Charge takes 1–2 patients - Rapid Response: ARR nurse available - Nurse Aides: - Days: 1:8 - Nights: 1:12 Patient Population / Common Diagnoses - Pre/Post cardiac procedures - Heart caths (femoral & radial) - Cardioversions on the floor - Cardiothoracic patients - Post-thoracotomy (direct from PACU) - CABGs (24 hours post-op) - Stents & post-PCIs - Vascular procedures - NSTEMI - Trachs (home-vented, BiPAP, CPAP) - Chest tubes - Note: Pacer wires are typically pulled in ICU Required Experience & Skills Required: - Pre/Post cardiac patients - Stents, pacemakers, ICDs - Pre/Post CABG - Pre/Post vascular experience Drips & Titration - Titration: - Some drips are titrated, some are not - Dopamine & Dobutamine: Non-titratable - Most others are titratable - Common Drips: - Cardizem - Amiodarone - Dopamine - Dobutamine - Nitroglycerin - Integrilin Telemetry & Monitoring - Monitor Techs: Yes - Monitor techs handle monitoring, measuring, and documentation - Travelers are not required to be experts at strip interpretation Respiratory Support / Equipment - BiPAP - CPAP - Home vents - Home vent experience not required Certifications - Required: BLS, ACLS - Preferred: NIHSS Scheduling - Shifts: 12-hour shifts | 6:45 AM – 6:45 PM - Self-Scheduling: Yes - Block Scheduling: Allowed (more common on nights) Weekends & Holidays - Weekends: - Every other weekend or - 4 weekend shifts per month - Flexibility on both day and night shifts - Holidays: - Rotating, every other holiday - Six major holidays: - New Year’s - Memorial Day - 4th of July - Labor Day - Thanksgiving - Christmas Floating & Orientation - Floating: Possible, within permanent staff rotation - Orientation: 2–3 shifts Dress Code - Scrub Color: Navy Blue About Talent4Health A leader and innovator, offering comprehensive talent solutions for the healthcare industry across the nation.
