This role involves preparing patients for surgery by ensuring they are emotionally and physically ready, reviewing medical histories, and completing the necessary preoperative procedures. Assess patient condition by reviewing medical history and performing physical examinations to determine surgical readiness. Administer preoperative medications and fluids as prescribed by the attending physician. Educate patients and family members on surgical procedures and postoperative expectations to ensure peace of mind and understanding. Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other medical professionals to discuss treatment plans and patient needs. Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, adhering to all legal and hospital requirements. Monitor patient's vital signs and overall condition throughout the preoperative phase. Strong assessment and monitoring skills Excellent communication and patient education abilities Proficient in handling preoperative care and medications Adept at using medical software for patient records Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Colorado BLS/CPR certification ACLS certification is preferable
