Vaco is seeking an experienced Payroll Accountant to join our client's team in Northern Colorado!Please review the job description below and apply with an updated resume. Responsibilities:

• Prepare all payroll batches for weekly and bi-weekly payroll cycles and ensure timely submissions
• Calculate salaries, overtime, deductions and PTO for accurate entry in payroll registers while adhering to government regulations
• Prepare monthly and annual payroll journal entries including PTO accruals
• Reconcile payroll to general ledger
• Perform month-end tasks as required including journal entries, account reconciliation, and other assignments.
• Identify and resolve payroll issues such as errors in pay, deductions, etc
• Ensure deductions and earnings in payroll system match employee elections and benefit billing statements.
• Reconcile benefits billing statements with payroll system and general ledger including medical, dental, vision, disability, life, 401k, and tuition reimbursements
• Ensure accurate entry of employee pay and benefits as they feed into payroll batches, this includes matching employee change forms to payroll registers
• Coordinate with HR function on special situations such as new hires, terminations, disability and leaves of absence
• Support payroll inquiries from employees
• Perform additional duties as assignedQualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred
  • 5+ years of large volume, multi-state payroll processing experience
  • Knowledge of state and federal payroll tax regulations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Experience with payroll, HRIS and timekeeping systems
