Critical Illness and Accident plans Job Summary: We are seeking a
highly skilled and collaborative Principal Mobile Engineer to lead
mobile development efforts for the Guest Experience Technology team
at Vail Resorts. This newly created role will focus on ensuring the
quality, performance, and maintainability of the mobile application
built primarily in React Native, and powers key guest-facing
experiences across our digital platforms. As a technical leader,
you will work closely with our external development partner,
reviewing code, contributing to feature development, and ensuring
adherence to engineering best practices. You will play a critical
role in shaping the mobile architecture, guiding implementation
decisions, and advocating for scalable, user-centered solutions
that align with the broader goals of the Guest Experience
Technology team. Job Specifications: Starting Wage: $140,000 -
$179,000 annual bonus Employment Type: Year Round Shift Type: Full

Responsibilities: Expert-level proficiency in React Native, with a
strong understanding of its architecture, performance optimization,
and platform-specific nuances. Solid experience in native mobile
development (iOS and/or Android), including familiarity with Swift,
Kotlin, or Objective-C/Java. Deep understanding of mobile design
patterns, state management (e.g., Redux, Context API), and mobile
CI/CD pipelines. Experience integrating mobile apps with RESTful
APIs and backend services. Familiarity with mobile analytics,
accessibility standards, and performance monitoring tools. Strong
code review skills and ability to mentor others in mobile
development best practices. Comfortable working in a hybrid team
model with internal engineers and external vendors. Excellent
communication and collaboration skills, with a focus on
cross-functional alignment. Job Requirements: Serve as the
technical lead for mobile development across guest-facing
applications. Review pull-requests from vendor teams to ensure code
quality, maintainability, and alignment with platform standards.
Collaborate with vendor developers on feature implementation,
architecture decisions, and performance improvements. Contribute
directly to mobile codebase for critical features, prototypes, or
refactors. Advocate for mobile best practices, including
accessibility, performance, and user experience. Partner with
Product Managers, Designers, and Architects to align mobile
development with business goals. Help define and evolve mobile
development standards, tooling, and workflows. Support onboarding
and mentoring of internal engineers contributing to mobile efforts.
The expected pay range is $140,000 - $179,000 annual bonus. This is
the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position.
