Job Description: Human Resources Generalist Reports To: Human Resources Director FLSA Status: Exempt POSITION SUMMARY The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with senior HR management in supporting designated geographic regions. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: total rewards (benefits, payroll), employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment and affirmative action and employment law compliance. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all organization personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains the employee handbook and the policies and procedures manual. Participates in the performance evaluation and compensation program and provides feedback and analysis as need. Performs benefits administration, including claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment and communicating benefits information to employees. Assist with the development and maintenance of affirmative action reporting, filing of EEO-1 report annually; and maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations. Handles employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling and exit interviewing. Participates in administrative staff meetings to provide training and support on company policies . Maintains company organization charts and the employee directory. Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed. Ensures that payroll is processed in accordance with all local, state and federal laws. Maintains and accurately updates human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database. Makes and implements regular compliance and system updates to the company HRIS system. Maintenance and reporting of Worker's Comp, Safety, and and all state and federal reporting and audits as needed for company compliance Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations. Provides recruitment, payroll, benefit and leave of absence and benefit enrollment support for assigned location. Assist with the system setup for Open Enrollment, Benefits Administration, and related vendor setup and processes. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Assists with the preparation of the performance review forms. 2. Assists HR Director with various research projects and/or special projects. 3. Processes departmental mail and external requests. 4. Makes photocopies, faxes document and performs other clerical functions. 5. Performs other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Two to Five years of experience in human resources including but not limited to payroll processing, benefits, employee relations. This requires a strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. SKILL COMPENTENCIES: Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize many tasks based on importance, urgency and time constraints effectively Effective verbal and written communication skills Employee service focused High follow-through Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills Outstanding level of professionalism and discretion Proven ability to be flexible and effectively manage change LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to converse and respond to common inquiries from consumers and members of the general public Ability to write business-related documents such as letters, emails and other business correspondence as needed COMPENSATION & BENEFITS The hiring range for the HR Generalist is $45,000 - $58,000 and will depend on the qualifications of the successful candidate. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including, but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. This position is located in Colorado, as such, employment in this position is subject to the labor and employment laws of the state of Colorado.
