Aestus scans the subsurface of the earth using our GeoTrax Survey--- subsurface imaging technology to ultimately help our clients understand and solve environmental or other site problems more quickly and effectively than traditional methods allow. We work on a variety of environmental and other sites across -the country and internationally. Reports to other stakeholders as needed to achieve goals on specific projects.Direct Reports: - There are not anticipated to be any direct administrative reports to this staff position. Other stakeholders will support the Staff Environmental Professional / Field Technician as needed to achieve goals on specific projects.Location: - - - - - - - - - - - - Candidates for the Staff Environmental Professional / Field Technician do not need to live near our Loveland, Colorado headquarters. However, living within -1 hour drive of a larger airport is necessary for field travel requirements. All positions at Aestus are virtual/remote working from your own home office while not in the field.Annual Salary: $55,000 - $70,000 per year (starting), dependent upon qualifications and years of experienceJob Overview:To support our Conceptual Site Model development process will support field data acquisition, data analysis, project report development and quality control (QC) work. Applicants should be quick learners and critical thinkers who can work independently, be detailed and accurate with report deliverables, and have 1+ years of work experience in the science and/or environmental field. - Furthermore, they should be able to mobilize for domestic and international field work travel on relatively short notice, with overnight travel to client sites typically for 5-14 days at a time.Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelors or Masters degree in geology, hydrogeology, engineering, geophysics, environmental science, chemistry, or related science degree 1-3 years of field work/industry experience (environmental remediation industry preferable)Functional knowledge of geospatial data (coordinate systems)Functional familiarity with drilling data such as soil boring logs and groundwater/soil chemistry samplesTechnical writing skillsExperience with instrumentation (electronic, laboratory, geophysical, etc.)Strong communication skills, written and verbal, to interact effectively with project team members, and company management.Experience driving truck/tow vehicle with trailerAlready have or can obtain/pass the following:

Microsoft Office (including Teams, Outlook, Work, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, and OneNote)GIS/CAD Software (ArcGIS Pro preferred)GIS Software: Esri Suite/ArcMap Pro and/or Blue Marble Global MapperRockworks 3D visualization softwareSurferGoogle EarthAdobe Suite including and InDesignSharePoint/OneDrive (proficient with cloud-based file management)Staff Environmental Professional / Field Technician Job ResponsibilitiesOffice Work Responsibilities Critically review and transcribe field generated documentsRepresent features from field notes in 2D and 3D graphical images and accurately collate, manage, critically analyze, and display numerical environmental data from multiple data sources in a variety of tabular and graphical formats including but not limited to:Borehole data, including geology, PIDs, groundwater informationAnalytical data for groundwater and soil from client and/or labClient conceptual site model elements, base maps, plume maps, etc.Work with geospatial data to create maps, figures, and models in client-specific coordinate systemLearn/work with Rockworks--- for 3D modelingLearn/work with Adobe--- InDesign for 2D figure developmentAbility to summarize conclusions and present them in written and graphical formats Accurately quality control (QC) check other stakeholder's work to verify accuracy and correct errorsOther support tasks, as required, to support office and reporting workField Work ResponsibilitiesLayout geophysical survey lines including hammering in electrode stakes in varying terrains and weather conditionsMove geophysical equipment around Aestus trailer/site Record accurate and complete field notes for each survey completedHelp collect land survey data with robotic total station and RTK GPS systemOther support tasks, as required, to support field services workHours and Travel
This position is full time (40-hour work week) and estimated as 50/50 field work/office work position on a net basis over the course of a typical yearAdditional hours (i.e., exceeding 8 hours per day and over 40 hours per week) will be required on most field projects and/or may be required to meet deadlines, including occasional nights and weekends during field projectsTravel via road and air to/from project sites at US or international locationsFlexibility to mobilize to a site on relatively short notice of usually 1-2 weeksWhat Stakeholders Need to Provide:As Aestus is a virtual company, stakeholders will be provided with a company owned laptop PC and software as well as a VOIP headset. However, stakeholders must provide the following:
